Job summary

Pima County Public Library is hiring for multiple Library Technical Assistant positions. These roles provide customer service, assist patrons with library technology and personal devices, and support daily library operations across several locations including Oro Valley Public Library, Martha Cooper Library, Quincie Douglas Library, and Sam Lena-South Tucson Library.

Qualifications

1 year experience in a library setting.
1 year experience in customer service.
2 years experience with technology and devices.
Experience using an integrated library system (ILS).
Experience handling cash at a register.

Responsibilities

Provides customer service by working directly with the public, answering questions, and resolving concerns.
Assists the public in using library resources and services including catalog, databases, and digital content.
Troubleshoots and maintains library computers in collaboration with IT staff.
Assists patrons with personal devices and common tech platforms.
Checks items in/out, issues library cards, collects fines, and handles deposits.
Delivers service with cultural competence aligned to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
Follows state and federal laws when handling confidential information.
Uses problem solving and de-escalation to meet patron needs.
