Qualifications

• Currently enrolled RCC student in good standing and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
• No specific major or prior library employment experience required.
• Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, organized, and able to follow established procedures.
• Working knowledge of computers and common digital devices.
• Ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Willingness to learn Library systems, procedures, resources, and service expectations.

Responsibilities

• Greet library users and provide routine directional information about library spaces and services.
• Shelve, straighten, sort, and organize library materials according to established procedures.
• Assist with basic circulation, printing, scanning, copying, and computer-use questions.
• Prepare displays, handouts, and materials for library programs.
• Maintain routine usage, inventory, or work records as assigned.
• Refer research-intensive, account, policy, or specialized information requests to library staff.
