Job summary

Liberty University, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to assist library customers with research, technology, circulation, and directional questions using professional service skills.

The CSS supports the Customer Service Center, reserves rooms, assists with library events, and helps maintain spaces and procedures, including opening and closing the building. Reports to Learning Commons Manager and Customer Service Leaders; expects teamwork and commitment to LU's mission while

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' library or related customer service experience.
• Strong customer service skills and communication.
• Knowledge of database and computer searching techniques.
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic technology, directional, and research assistance and referrals.
• Reserves group study rooms and monitors spaces.
• Assists with library events and space usage.
• Follows circulation procedures and maintains the robotics system.
• Assists with opening/closing the building and emergency response when needed.
• Oversees up to 4 student employees.
