City of Leesburg is seeking a paraprofessional to deliver customer-oriented library services, perform advanced bibliographic searches, and support information services using library resources and digital tools. You will assist at service points, plan and prepare flyers, help with events, digitize materials, manage social media content, and answer patrons by phone, email, and desk.
Evening and Saturday hours are required; a degree with library experience and strong computer skills are requested.
The purpose of the class is to provide paraprofessional, customer-oriented library services. The class is responsible for performing advanced bibliographic searches in intra-library loan, acquisition, or circulation functions and/or information services using all available library sources and tools; providing research and/or assistance in public service areas involving extensive public contact in advising patrons in the use and location of physical materials, online and digital resources, public computers, and mobile devices.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or associate degree with public library experience.
Requires experience with public library organizations and customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Requires strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office applications and mobile devices.
Must be able to work evenings and some Saturdays.
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
