The City of Leesburg, Florida seeks a paraprofessional librarian assistant to deliver advanced bibliographic searches and customer-oriented library services. You will provide information assistance, support public computer access, and help with digitization and social media content.
Responsibilities include assisting with information services, planning outreach materials, and helping with library events while engaging extensively with the public and supporting collection-related tasks.
The purpose of the class is to provide paraprofessional, customer-oriented library services. The class is responsible for performing advanced bibliographic searches in intra-library loan, acquisition, or circulation functions and/or information services using all available library sources and tools; providing research and/or assistance in public service areas involving extensive public contact in advising patrons in the use and location of physical materials, online and digital resources, public computers, and mobile devices.
Requires a bachelor's degree or associate degree with public library experience.
Requires experience with public library organizations and customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Requires strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office applications and mobile devices.
Must be able to work evenings and some Saturdays.
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
