Job summary

City of Farmington seeks a Part-Time Library Public Computer Lab Technician to support the Farmington Public Library at the work location in Farmington. The role requires assisting patrons with public computers, scheduling tech appointments, and ensuring policy compliance during peak hours.

Ideal candidates will have strong Windows/Office skills, familiarity with web tools, and a customer-focused approach. Knowledge of library tech and equipment is a plus; driving is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and World Wide Web; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, MacOS, and Apple products desired.
• Comprehensive understanding of library procedures and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, organizes, and monitors use of public computers.
• Provides exceptional customer service and assists patrons with basic use of public computers and internet policies.
• Plans, schedules and instructs computer and technology appointments; uses Windows, Office, Webmail, and the World Wide Web to carry out duties.
• Master library technology and assist other employees and patrons in its use (Audio visual systems, 3D printer systems, Cricut machines, etc.).
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, officials, and the public.
• Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
• Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of this position.
