Job summary

Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL) is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager in Programming and Outreach to lead community-focused programs and engage with patrons across ages. The role supervises library staff, helps manage the department, and promotes library services to expand community participation.

You will develop partnerships, plan programs, and provide high-quality patron experiences while coordinating with multiple locations. Evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library Science program.
• 3+ years' experience in direct customer service.
• 3+ years' experience with a variety of library hardware/software (printers, digital catalogs, eReaders).
• 3+ years' experience providing programming or teaching to all ages.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Must obtain Indiana LC1/2/3 certification through professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and promotes library programs and outreach efforts to engage all ages.
• Supervises Librarians and support staff to ensure top-tier patron service.
• Assists in department budgeting and operational planning.
• Represents the library in community partnerships and meetings.
• Plans and leads staff training, visits branch locations, and coordinates events.
