Job summary

Dillon County Library System - Dillon Branch is seeking a Library Assistant (Programming) to create and carry out programming under the supervision of the Programming Team. The role also involves assisting with daily library operations and supporting outreach to the community.

Responsibilities include developing innovative programs, coordinating with staff, training volunteers, assisting at the circulation desk when not programming, and promoting events through social media, posters, and press

Qualifications

Preferred public library experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Driver’s license in the State of South Carolina
Pre-employment drug testing is required

Responsibilities

Create new and innovative programming under the supervision of Programming Team.
Assist in daily operations of the library.
Track supplies and report needs to branch manager.
May train and assign work to volunteers.
Work circulation desk when not performing programming duties.
Promote programs and events to engage the community (social media, posters, flyers, press releases).
May facilitate programs or organize events with reporting to the programming team for approval.
Assist patrons with reference and locating materials.
