Job summary

The City of Olathe Libraries is seeking a Library Programming Specialist who is creative, energetic, and customer-focused to develop and deliver engaging programming for all ages, with emphasis on children from birth through 5th grade. You will provide front-line assistance, support outreach efforts, and help connect customers with information and resources.

Qualifications

Three years of customer service experience in library services.
Education can substitute for experience.
Bachelor’s degree in library science is required.
Valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required.
Proficiency in verbal and written English is required.

Responsibilities

Provides efficient, courteous public service to a diverse customer population.
Plans and implements exceptional library programming for children through 5th grade.
Represents the library at outreach events and programs off-site.
Collaborates with staff and volunteers and maintains confidentiality.
