Job summary

Medina County District Library is seeking a Customer Service Clerk to provide excellent service to patrons and staff. Duties include registering new patrons, checking out materials, assisting with library equipment, and handling clerical tasks.

This is a part-time, union position with evenings and weekends required. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong customer service skills, and the ability to learn the computerized circulation system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year experience working with the public is preferred.
• Ability to keyboard accurately and learn a computerized circulation system.
• Capable of basic calculations and using language effectively.
• Friendly attitude and ability to work in a team.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Registering new patrons and assisting with library services.
• Checking out materials and processing transactions.
• Assisting patrons with library equipment.
• Collecting monies and preparing bank deposits.
• Answering telephones and welcoming patrons at reception.
• Performing other clerical duties as assigned.
