Job summary

Portage County District Library is seeking a Substitute Bookmobile Outreach Clerk/Delivery Driver. The role covers circulation tasks and daily delivery of library materials to patrons, with some evenings and weekends.

It is tied to the Library Associate II pay scale under the bargaining agreement with District 1199, SEIU. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record, plus basic computer skills and the ability to learn library

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalency and a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a good driving record.
Basic computer skills, and/or ability to learn such skills.
Good driving skills.
Knowledge of library practices and procedures; operation of automated library equipment; ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Checks library materials in/out to patrons on automated system; places holds and renews materials.
Performs daily delivery and pick-up of requested library materials for Outreach Services including Library Express.
Maintains delivery van by cleaning and refueling; oversees vehicle tune-ups and repairs as needed.
Participates in outreach promotion, attends staff meetings and performs additional duties as assigned.
