Job summary

Scioto County Public Library is seeking an Outreach Services Associate/Driver to operate the bookmobile and deliver engaging programs to schools and communities across the county. You will perform circulation duties, assist patrons, and support outreach initiatives in alignment with library policies.

You will need 6 months to 1 year of library experience, a valid driver's license with a good record, and the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of library experience is preferred.
• Must be able to drive independently with a good driving record.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and meet scheduled hours with rare absences.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and professional library conduct.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bookmobile maintenance and safety equipment; keep accurate records.
• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues on the bookmobile.
• Plan and present programs and displays; provide basic IT assistance to patrons.
• Load/unload books and other materials; assist with home delivery as needed.
• Represent the library at community events and provide friendly, efficient service to patrons.
• Check materials in/out, create library cards, provide reader advisory, and assist with collection development.
