Job summary

Arlington Public Schools in Arlington, MA is seeking a Library Media Specialist to deliver library services and instructional technology support to the school community under the direction of the Director of Digital Learning.

The role involves partnering with teachers to design and teach standards-based curriculum, promote information literacy and digital citizenship, manage library resources, provide professional learning for staff, and help plan the school library budget.

Qualifications

• Must have MA DESE Library Teacher license and relevant standards-based library instruction experience.
• Experience using instructional technology to support teaching and learning.
• Familiarity with digital literacy, information ethics, and copyright principles.
• Ability to lead professional learning for staff and collaborate with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a rigorous, standards-based curriculum aligned with library standards and digital literacy.
• Collaborate with teachers to design engaging learning experiences and assessments across literacy dimensions.
• Design, teach, and support professional learning opportunities for all staff.
• Evaluate and promote instructional technology to improve learning outcomes.
