Job summary

Arlington Independent School District is seeking a Librarian to oversee the library/media center, empower students as critical thinkers, readers, and researchers, and collaborate with classroom teachers to design and assess instructional units.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree and Texas librarian certification, plus two years of teaching experience, and will promote digital citizenship and information literacy across the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Texas librarian certification or endorsement required.
• Two years of classroom teaching experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operates library/media center; collaborates with classroom teachers to design units and assess learning.
• Provides instruction in information literacy and research techniques; teaches use of print and digital resources.
• Fosters a culture of reading, critical thinking, and digital citizenship among students.
• Supports teachers by developing lessons aligned with TEKS and ISTE standards.
• Maintains library resources, selection, circulation, and access; oversees budgets and reporting.
• Supervises library staff and volunteers; participates in district and campus initiatives.

Education

Master's Degree from accredited college or university (for individuals certified after January 23, 2001)

Valid Texas school librarian certification or endorsement
