Job summary

The Academy Charter School is seeking a Library Media Specialist to collaborate with administrators and teachers to integrate library resources and educational technology into the curriculum. You will manage the library/media center and support students in locating, evaluating, and using information to solve problems.

You will promote information literacy, teach inquiry processes, and ensure equitable access to digital information for the learning community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or related subject required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Library Media Specialist Certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a High School setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with administrators and colleagues to align library services with the school improvement plan.
• Integrate AAAS learning standards through coaching and cooperative teaching methods.
• Advocate for library programs using diverse communication and technology tools.
• Participate in professional growth to enhance library program practices.
• Collaborate with staff to embed information literacy across all content areas.
• Manage and update library resources to support curriculum.
