Job summary

Sun Prairie Library Media Specialist Team at Westside Elementary is seeking a Library Media Instructional Assistant to support students, teachers, and staff in the Library Media Center, including circulation and research activities.

You will assist with locating resources, shelving books, and using the online catalog, while providing basic technology support and helping students with learning materials in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Two years of college coursework, or an associate's degree, or demonstrated ability to assist in instruction.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

Assists the Library Media Specialist in the overall operation of the LMC with a spirit for collaboration.
Promotes a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students and staff.
Provides assistance at the circulation desk; checks in/out books and other materials.
Helps process, circulate, repair, and shelve books.
Learn and use the library online catalog and other software.
Assists students with locating learning materials and uses online catalog.
Monitors and supervises students in the LMC, reinforcing expectations.
Remains current with technology and provides basic tech support.
