Job summary

Meade High seeks a Teacher Assistant: Library Media to support the daily operations of the media center. You will check materials in/out, shelve items, prepare instructional materials, and assist students individually or in small groups under the library media specialist.

You will also troubleshoot technology and assist with online resources. The role involves helping with bibliographic lists, supervising volunteers, and maintaining accurate records and displays to promote reading and learning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 48 college credits or paraprofessional test required for Title I schools.
• Experience in a library media center preferred.
• Ability to assist with literature research and database usage.
• Willingness to train volunteers and work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the media center's organization and shelving accuracy.
• Assist teachers and students in locating print and non-print media for lessons.
• Support use of online databases and digital resources.
• Assist in training and supervising student or parent volunteers.
• Manage circulation desk and run statistical reports on usage.
