Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is hiring a Materials Services Associate at the Southeast Branch in Groveport, OH. This part-time role (20/24 hrs) involves processing and shelving library materials, assisting customers, and supporting location operations.

The position requires basic computer skills, ability to pass a sorting test, and reliable transportation. Starting pay ranges from $17.51 to $21.53 per hour, commensurate with experience, with a full benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age (work permit required for minors).
• Ability to pass an alphabetic and numeric sorting and filing test.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC, email, software programs (Windows/Microsoft Office).
• Ability to utilize reliable transportation to report to job assignments.
• Ability to express self effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Process and sort materials accurately for shelving and delivery.
• Shelve materials and maintain shelves and displays across the location.
• Greet customers and answer basic directional questions in person or by phone.
• Assist customers with self-service public technology and referrals as needed.
• Maintain library collection by cleaning and processing withdrawn materials.
• Support staff and participate in special tasks or committees as assigned.
