Job summary

Seekonk Public Library is seeking a friendly, motivated Part-time Library Customer Services Associate to join our team and be the welcoming face of the library. You’ll help patrons check out materials, issue library cards, recommend reads, and assist with technology and digital resources.

This 12–19 hour/week position may include evenings and some Saturdays. Starting pay is $19.46 per hour with annual step increases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Comfort using a cash register and basic computer tools (Windows, web browsers).
• Customer-first attitude and courteous demeanor.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Bonus points for library or customer service experience, especially with SIRSI/Dynix or SAILS.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating materials and checking out items.
• Issue library cards and maintain user records.
• Answer questions and provide top-notch service.
• Assist with technology and digital resources (eLibrary).
• Handle inter-library loans and item requests.
• Explain library policies and resolve routine issues.
• Work as part of a friendly, collaborative team.
