Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks an experienced administrator to plan and direct the department's maintenance, property control, central supply, and building services, with supervision over staff.

Responsibilities include developing procedures to manage facilities, equipment, inventories, budgets, and security operations, coordinating capital improvements, and ensuring safe, efficient operations across all buildings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in facility operations management or supervisory responsibility in a large, decentralized system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor the division's annual budget.
• Perform frequent site inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Develop and maintain inventory control and monitoring procedures.
• Control the acquisition and allocation of space in assigned facilities.
• Coordinate security operations for all assigned facilities.
• Coordinate the implementation of departmental capital improvements.
• Prepare all purchase requisitions.
• Consult with Chiefs and Division Heads to resolve supply, equipment, and maintenance problems.
• Prepare reviews and presents reports to Department management.
• Develop plans, drawings, and/or schematics for new construction and renovation projects.
• Coordinate activities with other divisions and outside agencies.
• Review architectural drawings and plans for building improvements and repairs.
• Manage the receipt and distribution of equipment and supplies to all facilities and operations.
• Manage the maintenance and cleaning of department buildings and grounds.
• Develop work schedules and assignments for staff members.
• Perform related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
