Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a facilities operations leader to plan and direct maintenance, property control, central supply, and building services for library facilities. You will develop procedures to manage buildings, equipment, inventories, and security personnel, with direct supervision over staff.

The role requires flexible hours, budgeting oversight, and collaboration with division heads to resolve supply and maintenance challenges.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
• Knowledge of general inventory and stock control procedures.
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate staff.
• Ability to develop plans, procedures, and work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and monitors the division's annual budget.
• Performs frequent site inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Develops and maintains inventory control procedures.
• Controls the acquisition and allocation of space in assigned facilities.
• Coordinates security operations for all assigned facilities.
• Coordinates capital improvements implementation.
• Prepares all purchase requisitions.
• Consults with Chiefs and Division Heads to resolve supply, equipment, and maintenance problems.
• Prepares reviews and presents reports to Department management.
• Develops plans and schematics for new construction and renovation projects.
• Coordinates activities with other divisions and outside agencies.
• Reviews architectural drawings for building improvements and repairs.
• Manages receipt and distribution of equipment and supplies.
• Manages maintenance and cleaning of department buildings and grounds.
• Develops work schedules and assignments for staff.
