Job summary

Maricopa County Library District in Goodyear, AZ, seeks a Library Circulation Supervisor to oversee staff and daily operations in an assigned area of a large branch library under a Branch Manager. You will focus on customer service, teamwork, and continuous learning in a dynamic, growing community at the Goodyear Civic Square.

The responsibilities include supervising staff, hiring and training, scheduling, reference and reader advisory, and helping set branch goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience.
• Experience as a supervisor or lead preferred.
• Experience in a public library is valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the overall operation of an assigned area.
• Hires and trains staff, including scheduling and interviews.
• Develops performance plans, monitors and documents performance, coaches staff.
• Provides reference and reader advisory services to customers.
• Schedules staff and manages leave for equitable coverage.
• Processes library materials and handles damaged items.
• Identifies needs and recommends improvements to branch operations.
• Oversees maintenance and safety of the assigned service area.
