King William County Library System is seeking a Library Associate 2 for an entry-level, customer-focused role primarily at the circulation desk. You will support various library functions under supervision, handling checkouts, registrations, and patron inquiries.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a willingness to work a schedule that may include evenings and weekends, and strong customer service skills. Basic knowledge of library systems is preferred.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years library experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred.
• Ability to work a schedule including days, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• English/Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Welcome and register patrons; issue library cards; check out materials and manage patron accounts.
• Help patrons locate materials or use the reference desk; assist with computers and procedures.
• Check in and process library materials as needed.
• Accept fines, fees, or other payments.
• Provide information about programs and events.
• Mail materials for homebound programs when needed.
• Shelve materials and maintain displays.
• Address patron conduct or safety issues with management.
• Follow privacy and records handling requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
