Job summary

Whatcom Community College in Bellingham seeks a Program Specialist 2-Library Circulation to coordinate daily circulation desk operations, assist patrons, and enforce library policies in the Learning Commons.

You will supervise part-time staff, train student employees, and work with campus offices to resolve account issues, while collaborating with the Whatcom Libraries Collaborate group and improving workflows.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree focusing on library science, information science, education, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily circulation desk operations, including scheduling and training student employees.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate circulation procedures and practices.
• Coordinate with campus offices to resolve account issues and fines.
• Collaborate with Learning Commons staff and external partners to provide integrated services.
• Monitor and improve circulation workflows and reporting.
