Job summary

The Tyngsborough Public Library is seeking a part-time Circulation Assistant for 10 hours per week, reporting to the Library Director. The salary range is $18.63-$19.45 per hour, with a 9 AM to 2 PM schedule and Saturday rotations, and potential for additional hours.

Primary duties include customer service, checking materials in and out, registering patrons, assisting with readers’ advisory and reference services, helping patrons with computers and electronic resources, shelving and collection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Library experience preferred or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages.
• Checking materials in and out, registering patrons, and managing interlibrary loans.
• Offering readers’ advisory and reference services.
• Assisting patrons with computers and electronic resources.
• Handling shelving, collection maintenance, and processing materials.

SUMMARY

The Tyngsborough Public Library is seeking applicants for the position of part-time Circulation Assistant. This Clerical Union position is for 10 hours per week, reporting to the Library Director. Salary range expected be between a Grade 4 Step 1 and Grade 4 Step 3 ($18.63- $19.45/hour). The schedule requires working from 9 AM to 2 PM, and on Saturdays as part of a rotation, with potential for additional hours. Candidates with flexible schedules are preferred.
