Job summary

The Free Public Library of Monroe Township in Williamstown, NJ invites an enthusiastic, service-oriented individual to join our circulation team and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to patrons of all ages.

You'll register new borrowers, check materials in/out, handle cash transactions, answer in-person and phone inquiries, and assist with shelving and materials processing. This full-time role offers a 35-hour week with evening and weekend shifts and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform extensive alphabetizing.
• Ability to converse clearly, concisely, and courteously.
• Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry 40lbs or less on a sporadic basis with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Register new borrowers for membership; check library materials in/out; handle cash transactions; follow opening/closing procedures.
• Answer questions in person and over the phone and provide information on library services, programming, and events.
• Assists with collection maintenance, shelving, and materials processing
