Job summary

Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library in Montgomery County, VA seeks a full-time Library Associate II for the Mobile Library. The role involves planning, staffing, and driving the Mobile Library to provide access to services and materials to the public.

Responsibilities include safe operation, developing schedules, assisting patrons with Reader’s Advisory, supporting programming and outreach, and supervising staff as needed; some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent is required.
• Library experience is preferred.
• A valid Virginia Driver’s License is required.

Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library is seeking a full-time Library Associate II for the MFRL Mobile Library. The Library Associate II facilitates the public's access to library services and materials by planning, staffing, and driving the Mobile Library. Duties include safely and efficiently operating the mobile library in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and procedures; developing the schedule of mobile library stops and maintaining effective communication with representatives of stop locations; providing direct patron assistance at mobile library stops; providing Reader’s Advisory and library reference services in compliance with standard professional practices; assisting with planning and implementing library programming and outreach based out of the Mobile Library; and supervising the work of assigned staff. Some evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent is required; Library experience is preferred. A valid Virginia Driver’s License is required. Background check, drug screening (including THC), and DMV screening are required. Success in this position draws on the incumbent's competencies in advocating an inclusive and diverse library environment, nurturing safe and accessible library spaces, and embracing innovative processes and technologies that enhance library operations.
