Job summary

Jackson County Library District is seeking a Library Associate to provide front-line customer service, register patrons, issue cards, and manage circulation activities. The role supports multiple sections, primarily at the Circulation desk, delivering excellent patron experiences.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and registers patrons, issues library cards, checks in/out materials, and manages patron accounts.
• Processes incoming/returned materials in all formats with holds/requests and transfers as needed.
• Maintains holds routines and day-to-day materials organization for customer pickup.
• Accepts and processes fines, fees, or other payments.
• Assists patrons with locating materials using computers and explains procedures.
• May assist branch manager with programming and outreach for all ages.
• May plan and execute storytime programs.
• May plan and implement programs for all ages, including Spark Space.
• Provides information about programs, events, and conference rooms.
• Shelves materials as needed and addresses safety or conduct issues.
• Participates in business-related activities to keep the library open.
• Maintains regular attendance and performs other duties as assigned.
