Job summary

Miles Community College seeks a dynamic Library Associate to support daily operations in the College Library. This 10-month, full-time position provides access to resources, services, technology, and instructional support for students, staff, and the community.

The role covers circulation, cataloging, interlibrary loan, account management, programming, and supervision of student workers, with emphasis on service, confidentiality, and inclusive learning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Library experience preferred.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a public-facing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize library systems, databases, software, and technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Circulation, cataloging, interlibrary loan, patron account management, fee processing.
  • Stacks maintenance, library programming, displays, and assisting patrons with hardware and software.
  • Supports library instruction, creates promotional and instructional materials, coordinates cultural events.
  • Supervises student workers and maintains confidentiality with a fast-paced environment.
