Clermont County Public Library is hiring a Library Assistant Specialist to provide outstanding service at the service desk across branches. You will handle circulation, reference questions, and readers advisory, while helping guests with computers, catalogs, and online resources.

This role emphasizes welcoming service, teamwork, and accurate cash handling. The position requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to work evenings and weekends at multiple branches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; two years of related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, computers, and basic technology troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with library resources, reference services, and office equipment preferred.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and work independently.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and at multiple branch locations as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, move loaded book carts, and perform shelving and other physical library duties.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests and assists with circulation, reference, and reader's advisory questions.
• Operates the online catalog, databases, and self-checkout stations.
• Reserves materials and processes interlibrary loan requests.
• Assists in marketing library services and programs.
• Provides technology training and instruction to guests.
