Job summary

The University of Louisville Library is seeking a Library Assistant I to assist patrons at the Health Sciences Center desk, helping access research databases and issuing library cards. You will also handle inquiries via email and phone and support interlibrary loan activities.

You will instruct patrons in using computers, scanners, and copiers, maintain patron records, and collaborate with the Student Supervisor to ensure proper desk coverage and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Grade 2 (Hourly).

Responsibilities

• Interact with patrons at the public service desk and aid in accessing research databases and online tools.
• Manage inquiries via email and telephone and issue library cards.
• Instruct patrons in the use of computers, scanners, and photocopiers and ensure equipment is functional.
• Keep accurate patron records and provide interlibrary loan services.
• Collaborate with the Student Supervisor to ensure desk coverage.
