Job summary

Copperas Cove ISD is seeking a Library Aide to assist the librarian and campus leaders in administering the school library. You will help patrons locate materials, manage circulation, and support reading initiatives across the school.

The role requires basic college credit or a paraprofessional credential and strong computer skills. With a focus on student-friendly service, you will help create an inviting library atmosphere and assist in inventory and display creation.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 48 college credits or an equivalent degree.
• Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED with Region 12 Paraprofessional Certificate required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist users in locating materials and using online databases.
• Promote reading incentive programs on the campus or in the library.
• Operate the media center automated circulation system to check books in and out.
• Create eye-catching displays and bulletin boards for reading promotion or special programs.
• Assist the librarian in the receipt of books and supply orders.
• Shelve books, file materials, clean equipment and maintain a neat library.
• Consult with librarian on teacher requests, needs or training opportunities.
• Repair books and materials as needed; assist in annual inventory and weeding.
• Supervise library operations in the absence of the librarian.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
