Job summary

The City of Wichita Falls, Texas is seeking a Librarian - Resource Sharing to provide reference services and interlibrary loan, while coordinating community programs and non-traditional collections. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and knowledge of library policies.

MLS is preferred; at least two years of experience expected. Evening shifts and some weekends are required; office environment in Wichita Falls, TX.

Qualifications

• MLS preferred.
• Thorough working knowledge of library policies and procedures is required.
• At least one weekly evening shift and some weekend work will be required.
• Experience with computers is highly desirable; excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general reference and information services at service desk; assist users in locating materials and explain library policies.
• Provide Interlibrary Loan service and coordinate procurement of items from other libraries for WPFL users.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate collections of non-traditional library items; assist with deselection.
• Coordinate and oversee the Community Workshop and use of workshop resources for library programs.
• Advocate for the library by communicating its mission, goals, and services.
