Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate.
• Eligible to teach in Tennessee as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create an educational environment conducive to learning and prepare instructional materials.
• Establish classroom behavior standards and manage the classroom.
• Assess student progress, and provide written and oral progress reports to parents and administrators.
• Plan curriculum and prepare lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, and staff to develop educational programs.
• Create learning materials aligned to student abilities and interests.
• Instruct using strategies to improve development and language, cognition, social and emotional skills.
• Motivate students and provide ongoing feedback on learning activities.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district regulations.
• Support administration with policies and student conduct.
• Sponsor student activities and tutor students as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
