Job summary

The City of Newport Beach Library Services Department is seeking a Librarian II to join either the Children's or Adult services team at the Central Library. The role focuses on reference services, collection development, programming, and outreach, with occasional coverage as the person in charge during nights and weekends.

Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s degree in Library Service from an ALA-accredited program and have at least two years of professional library experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Service from an ALA-accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional library experience.
• California driver's license may be required; background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Serve as person in charge during nights and weekends when Administrative Team is not in the building.
• Provide reference services, programming, and outreach to patrons.
• Participate in collection development for Central Library.
• Support library operations at the Central Library.
