City of Redwood City is seeking a dynamic Librarian I/II for full‑time service at the Redwood Shores and Schaberg Branch Libraries. The role is flexibly staffed at Librarian I/II based on experience and will serve children, families and teens with innovative programs.

Qualified candidates hold an MLIS from an ALA‑accredited program; Librarian I requires no experience, Librarian II requires two years of professional library work.

Job description

The City of Redwood City is looking for a dynamic, energetic, team-oriented full-time (38-hours per week) Librarian I/II. This position is flexibly staffed at the Librarian I/II level, depending on the candidate's experience. The current opening is based at the family friendly Redwood Shores Branch Library and will deliver innovative services and programs for children, families and teens, at both the Redwood Shores Branch Library and Schaberg Branch Library.

Possession of Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university.

Librarian I: No experience required. Experience working with children or teens is preferred but is not required.
Librarian II: Two years of experience performing professional library work.

This position will require ability to work during the days, evenings and weekends.

The ability to speak Mandarin is a plus.
