Library Systems & Services Llc in Moreno Valley, CA, invites applications for a Librarian 1. The role provides essential public library service at the Lakeshore Branch, handling programs, reference, collections, and patron support on-site.

Under supervision from senior staff, you will support daily operations, contribute to programming, assist with cataloging and social media, and may supervise Library Associates. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• MLS or MLIS degree required.
• One year of librarian experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of online library databases, resources, and services.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and professionally with diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, based on branch operational needs.
• Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute library programs, services, and initiatives for the Lakeshore Branch and community.
• Provide high-quality customer service and assist patrons with reference questions and resources.
• Support development and delivery of programs responsive to Moreno Valley community needs.
• Evaluate basic data and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
• Process and edit bibliographic and item records for the library catalog.
• Maintain and update library social media and webpage content.
• Provide readers' advisory services and assist patrons with materials and resources.
• Support the collection management process.
• Serve on committees and potentially chair them.
• May open/close the library and handle daily cash reports.
• May supervise Library Associates and support performance management.
