Job summary

Library Systems & Services, LLC. is seeking an entry-level Librarian I in Indio, CA to support and strengthen library programs and services under supervision. You will manage catalog records, assist patrons, and contribute to policies and workflows that enhance the patron experience.

The role requires an MLS or MLIS degree, proficiency with MS Office, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities. A 40-hour work week with a $25.00 hourly rate is offered, with opportunities to grow within the library

Qualifications

• MLS or MLIS degree required.
• One year librarian experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of online library databases and services.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and executes a variety of programs and initiatives for the library.
• Evaluates basic statistical data and prepares basic statistical reports and surveys for the library, LS&S management and other entities.
• Processes, creates and edits bibliographic and item records for the library catalog.
• Maintains and updates the library social media presence and webpage and may support social media of other branches.
• Provides reference and computer help to patrons.
• Serves on committees and may serve as chairperson for committees.
• May handle opening and closing responsibilities and cash reports.
• Be responsible for the collection management process.
• Be a proficient reader advisor.
• May supervise junior Library Associates and manage performance.
