Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Librarian I-Academic Liaison at the University Library to assist with teaching library orientations and Research Skills to students and the public. You will coordinate on-campus instruction as requested by instructors and design presentations, handouts, and content for library training.

You’ll interact with patrons to help select materials and meet informational needs, and you may cover in the absence of the Academic Liaison.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
Knowledge of current library practices and technologies.
Ability to assist patrons and complete projects in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Assists with teaching library orientations and Research Skills to students and the public.
Assists with coordinating library instruction on campus as requested by instructors.
Designs and prepares presentations, handouts, and content for library instruction.
Interacts with patrons to assist with selection of materials and information needs.
Assumes library instruction duties in the absence of the Academic Liaison.
Handles transfers and materials on reserve in the absence of the Academic Liaison.
Participates in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster.
