Position

Liberty Ride Tour Guide – Part‑time, Seasonal/Year‑Round, Non‑Benefitted. Hourly Rate $18.50/hour. Weekend and holiday availability preferred. Posting remains open until filled.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere by being courteous and warm to all visitors.

• Prepare and cover content within a specific timeframe.
• Respond to historical questions regarding Colonial Era Lexington and the American Revolution.
• Perform special projects and other related duties as directed or as the situation dictates.
• Maintain regular attendance at the workplace.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Guides ride the Liberty Ride Trolley through historic sites during the tours, carrying out the scripted tour. They are not responsible for operating the trolley. The role requires frequent standing, walking, and moving on and off the trolley during each 90‑minute tour. Guides are exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wetness, and humidity.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Genuine interest in history and storytelling.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout work hours in colonial clothing.
• Ability to work outdoors in potentially inclement weather for long periods.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellent customer service.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous tour guide experience and general knowledge of Boston's history is preferred but not required.
