Job summary

Travelers is seeking a qualified claims professional in New Jersey to investigate, evaluate, reserve, and settle General Liability Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims. You will manage the full lifecycle, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with state laws.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of bodily injury handling experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• One-year bodily injury liability claim handling experience, or one year of liability claim experience, or successful completion of Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Strong writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Timely coverage analysis and communications with insured based on policy information, facts or allegations.
• Investigates claim by contacting policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and experts to determine liability and damages.
• Verifies injury or property damage and reviews records for accuracy.
• Keeps diary system and assesses liability and expenses to establish reserves.
• Negotiates settlements and may coordinate with counsel on litigated claims.
• Maintains claim files and documents activities per procedures.
• Attends depositions, mediations, or trials when needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
