Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative-Liability to investigate and resolve complex liability claims with a focus on accuracy and fairness. You will independently manage caseloads, review policies, and negotiate settlements with policyholders, claimants, attorneys, and other carriers.

You will verify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, and set appropriate reserves while ensuring compliance with regulations. A state license is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve liability claims with accuracy and efficiency.
• Verify coverage by reviewing policies and language.
• Evaluate liability from statements, reports and evidence; negotiate or deny accordingly.
• Assess physical damage and bodily injury using estimates, medical reports, and appraisals.
• Set reserves and negotiate settlements within guidelines.
• Document decisions and communications to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Obtain and maintain state licensing requirements.
