Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative-Liability to investigate and resolve claims with accuracy and fairness, while independently managing caseloads and negotiating settlements.

You will verify coverage, evaluate liability using statements and reports, and set reserves, negotiating settlements within established guidelines. The role requires empathetic customer service and clear communication throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to review and analyze detailed documents and policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to obtain and maintain state licensing.
• Prior attorney rep experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify coverage by reviewing policies and language.
• Evaluate liability using statements, police reports, and evidence; negotiate or deny liability.
• Assess physical damage and bodily injury with estimates, medical reports, and related evidence; coordinate services.
• Set reserve levels and negotiate settlements within guidelines.
• Document decisions and activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide empathetic service and clear explanations to claimants.
• Maintain state licensing requirements.
