Job summary

Anchor Health in Hamden, CT is hiring a Psychiatric Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) to support our behavioral health team. This full-time role assists providers with in-person and telehealth visits, administers PHQ-9 and GAD-7 screens, and helps keep clinic operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have CMA or RMA certification, at least 1 year of clinical MA experience, and familiarity with trauma-informed and LGBTQ-affirming care.

Qualifications

• CMA or RMA certification required
• 1+ year clinical medical assistant experience
• Behavioral health care experience preferred
• Trauma-informed space experience
• Strong communication and discretion
• Ability to work with providers, nurses, pharmacy, case management

Responsibilities

• Room patients for in-person psychiatry visits including vitals and medication reconciliation
• Room patients for telehealth visits and confirm identity, location, and meds
• Administer and enter PHQ-9, GAD-7, OCD screeners in Epic
• Collect and process urine drug screens per clinic protocol
• Manage Epic InBasket messages and tasks
• Process incoming mail and faxes and route to provider
• Pre-fill patient paperwork for clinicians
• Assist with last-minute appointment rescheduling
• Document in Epic EHR accurately
• Answer calls from patients, providers, and pharmacies
• Provide LGBTQ-competent referrals to other services
• Participate in staff meetings and cultural competency trainings
