Job summary

Docs Medical Group in East Haven, CT is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support our clinical team. The ideal candidate will hold CMA or RMA certification (or equivalent), complete an accredited MA program, and have 1–3 years of clinical experience, including proficiency with EHR systems.

You will take vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, EKGs, phlebotomy, assist with minor procedures, and help with patient scheduling, records, and insurance processing while upholding infection

Qualifications

• CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Taking vital signs.
• Performing Point-of-Care Testing.
• Performing EKGs, phlebotomy and other diagnostic tests.
• Assisting with minor procedures.
• Ensuring infection control and safety protocols.
• Scheduling patient appointments and managing calendars.
• Maintaining patient records and documentation.
• Processing insurance claims and verifying patient eligibility.
• Coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Handling medical inventory.
