Banco Santander SA is seeking a Sr. Specialist in Leveraged Finance & Specialties to provide financing for leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and refinancing, including direct equity co-investments.

The role involves analyzing loan portfolios, building data systems, maintaining financial models, and presenting memos for credit approvals. Strong communication and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent.
• 3+ years in leveraged cash flow underwriting or portfolio management.
• Strong financial statement analysis and modeling skills.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Specialist, Leveraged Finance & Specialties is responsible to provide financing for leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and refinancing and make direct equity co-investments.

The Difference You Make

• Analyzing portfolio metrics received monthly from the loan manager or agent bank on the pool of underlying assets securing the credit facility.
• As needed, developing data gathering databases to track underlying loans across funds, managers and Agents.
• Maintains detailed financial models; develop sensitivity analysis around key economic drivers.
• Plays a key role completing and presenting pre-screen memos, credit approval memos, collateral analysis, cash flow modeling, and risk rating assessment.
• Negotiates terms and conditions for transactions and works with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate documentation.
• Valuates risk/return dynamics for proposed transactions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent field. - Required.
• 3+ Years Experience with leveraged Cash Flow underwriting/portfolio management. - Required.
• Financial statement analysis, financial modeling and valuation.
• Preparing and delivering presentations to management and peers.
• Negotiating legal documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional team environment and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to integrate multiple perspectives and champion diverse points of view.
• Advanced analytical, loan structuring, underwriting, documentation, credit, due diligence analytical.
• Possess a high level of initiative and capability to work independently on financings and other responsibilities.
• Existing knowledge of leveraged loan market a plus.
• Strong PC Proficiency, Microsoft Office applications, and Credit Research Tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
• Understanding of bank regulation and compliance.
