Olympic Steel, Inc. seeks a Leveler Operator for 1st shift (6:00am-4:30pm) in Bedford Heights, OH. The role involves setting up with a helper, checking material specs, loading coil stock, and processing to ensure flat sheet stock meets customer requirements.

You will monitor feeds, operate leveling equipment, stack and package finished sheets, and document production data for traceability and quality control.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined and safety conscious.
• Basic math skills required for measurements.
• Familiar with general computer programs and databases.

Responsibilities

• Setups completed with a helper following established procedures.
• Verify hardness, gauge width, and material conformity to job and customer specs.
• Operate console to load coil stock, set width, feed through leveler rolls, and adjust settings.
• Thread through automatic length and sheet count; set feeds and speed for quality.
• Stack sheets per order and prepare material for packaging.
• Oversee packaging to ensure customer specs are met.
• Verify final product hardness and dimensions meet order.
• Weigh and attach shipping/stock tags to orders.
• Remove unused coils from payoff and return to inventory.
• Occasionally operate units manually as needed.
• Detect faults and refer issues to supervisor; log production data.
