Olympic Steel in Bedford Heights, OH is seeking a Leveler Operator for the 1st shift (6:00am–4:30pm). You will set up equipment with a helper, verify material specs, and feed stock through leveler lines to produce flat sheets.

Responsibilities include monitoring throughput, packaging results to meet customer specs, recording production data, and reporting issues to supervisors. The role requires safe work habits and basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Mechanically oriented with safety and quality focus.
• Knowledge of crane operation and lifting devices helpful.
• Basic math skills required for measurements and gauging.
• Experience with general computer programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up with helper following procedures.
• Verify hardness, gauge width, and conformance to specs.
• Operate console to load coil stock and leveler; adjust settings.
• Thread through length/count systems and set feeds/speed.
• Stack sheets as ordered; oversee packaging per specs.
• Weigh, tag, and prep materials for shipping; report issues.
