Job summary

American Leadership Academy - Blythewood is hiring a Level 1 IT Specialist to support staff and students with hardware, software, and network issues at the Blythewood campus.

Responsibilities include evaluating requests, escalating complex problems, installing and repairing equipment, and training users on-site. The role requires strong communication and a customer-service mindset in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years IT support experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, common software applications, and basic networking concepts.
• Associate's degree in IT or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer, evaluate and prioritize staff IT requests.
• Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support with detailed reports.
• Install computers, software, and peripherals; repair as needed.
• Troubleshoot devices including phones, projectors, and doc cams.
• Support audio/visual equipment at events.
• Train users on software and hardware on-site.
• Maintain records of work in progress and completed jobs.
• Lift up to 50 pounds for hardware installations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy - Blythewood is now accepting applications for a Level 1 IT Specialist. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answer, evaluate and prioritize requests for assistance from staff experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other IT related issues.
• Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support providing a detailed report of steps taken.
• Install computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
• Repair of computers, software, and peripheral equipment.
• Troubleshoot phones, networks, projectors, doc cams and any other technology used by students or staff.
• Support audio and visual equipment at various ALA events.
• Train users on software and hardware on-site.
• Maintain records of work in progress and completed jobs.
• Maintain a moderate level of proficiency in software and applications supported by IT.
• Required to lift up to 50 pounds in support of hardware installations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field technical role, preferably in an educational setting
• Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, common software applications, and basic networking concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
