Job summary

GJB & Associates in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Level-1 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician to support installation, maintenance, and servicing of access control, intrusion alarms, video surveillance, and intercom systems.

You will install and route ESS cables, set up racks and panels, assist in testing equipment, and participate in training. Must lift up to 75 lbs, hold a valid driver's license, and be willing to travel up to 25%.

Level-1 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician

GJB and Associates is rapidly expanding and seeking a motivated Level-1 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Technician to join our team. This role supports the installation, maintenance, and servicing of electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion alarm detection, video surveillance, and intercom systems. We welcome candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, even if they don't meet all the qualifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Install and route various types of ESS cables through conduits, above ceilings, and between floors.
• Set up cable trays, J-hooks, network cabinets/racks, wire management, patch panels, and other support infrastructure.
• Assist in installing and testing ESS equipment under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor.
• Support preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and service call work for ESS systems as directed.
• Read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams to understand ESS equipment functions and installation procedures.
• Perform warehouse duties and inventory management as assigned.
• Participate in job-related training classes and courses as required.
• Maintain a professional image and positive attitude while working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to present a professional image.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools, cable testers, and meters.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and after-hour shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel throughout the INDOPACIFIC region (up to 25% annually).
